Pastoral Ministries
Pastor Handrich provides pastoral ministries which regularly include leading Sunday Worship, adult education, baptism, confirmation, support for our preschool and their families, and shut-in/hospital visitation. Care & Compassion Ministries
At Redeemer Lutheran Church, we desire to be a church that supports our local community. We are part of the volunteer network of churches that supports Manna House and serve there on the third Thursday of each month. Throughout the year we do fund raising and collections for many local care ministries such as: Manna House, Today’s Choice, Family Promise, Market Street Mission, and Benny’s Bodega.
We also extend our support to national and international groups such as: Voice of the Martyrs, Samaritan’s Purse, and Food for the Poor.
Senior Luncheon & Senior Ministry
In partnership with our sister church, The Lutheran Church of Our Savior in Stanhope, we have established a monthly Senior Luncheon. This normally includes a themed menu and a presentation or activity of interest to the attendees. Roadside Sign Message Ministry
Redeemer is situated on a major commuting route from Newton and the neighboring communities. We have been considering the possibility of installing a digital sign for several years, with the aim of effectively sharing the Gospel and messages of encouragement with passersby. In the spring of 2023, we were able to bring that vision to life. Thanks, in part, to a generous grant from the Christian Heritage Endowment Fund (CHEF) of the New Jersey District of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod, which covered approximately one-third of the project’s cost.
